The only beauty oils you’ll need this winter
Every year we make new resolutions to take better care of our skin, and every year, thanks to our hectic schedule, we break those resolutions. And by the time winter comes we give up all hopes for better skin.
While those with dry skin may see winter as a nightmare, it is in fact the perfect time to moisturize your skin and nurse it back to good health with beauty oils.
Essential oils and other beauty oils will do the trick, and most importantly, they are 100% natural with absolutely no unnecessary chemicals.
Here are the most important beauty oils for the winter season:
Coconut oil has a 12-carbon fatty acid structure which allows it to penetrate and restore skin. Whether you have dry skin around elbows, or flaky scalp, coconut oil can help you with all of that.
Before using it, make sure you heat it up because coconut oil freezes like butter in low temperatures. To heat, do not put the oil in a microwave, instead, put the bottle of oil in warm water
Here’s a fun fact: Jojoba oil is technically a wax, and its correct pronunciation is ‘ho-ho-ba’ oil.
Its composition is very similar to our skin’s natural oil, and that is the reason why jojoba oil is so easily absorbed by the skin. It also contains vitamin B and E, copper, and zinc which can help strengthen your skin during the winter season…and every season!
Extra virgin olive oil has vitamin E and fatty acids which can rejuvenate your skin in just a few days. It is a natural moisturizer but it’s not as heavy as coconut oil, so you can easily apply it all over your body in night and wash it off in morning.
These days, every other shampoo and beauty cream claims to have argan oil.
Here’s the deal. The hype around argan oil is real. Extracted from Moroccan argan trees, this oil has a large number of antioxidants, omega-3 fatty acids, and vitamin E.
Though, mainly marketed as a dry hair savior, argan oil can also be great for dry skin, just make sure you get the original one, because there are many fake ones out there.
If you are one of those unlucky ones who suffer from acne, even in winter, then lavender oil should be your go-to. This oil is a disinfectant, natural antiseptic and it can help control sebum. This is the perfect soothing oil for irritated skin.
If you are a guac lover, then why not embrace avocado for your skin too?
We all know how healthy it is, but what you might not know is avocado can help in decreasing skin inflammation and regulate proper cell function. Whether you have dry or itching skin, avocado oil is great for everything.
Flaxseed oil isn’t just healthy for your heart, you can also use it topically as a moisture. Powered with omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, flaxseed can help with skin inflammation and it can also help eczema and dermatitis patients.
If you are facing itchy or irritated skin, flaxseed oil can be a quick resolution.
Sandalwood is a natural anti-aging oil since it helps softening and firming the skin. It is also very effective in getting rid of scars or wrinkles. Not to mention, sandalwood has a divine fragrance.
Most of the beauty oils are so thick that they don’t suit oily skin, even in low temperatures. Cedarwood oil is works amazingly for oily skin and thanks to its anti-bacterial properties, it can also help with acne.
